Hello! My name is Tamey Zollner, and I think fifth grade at Finley Farms is fabulous! I am a native of Arizona - born and raised in Mesa. My husband, Joe, and I were married in1997 and are now extremely busy with our three wonderful children: Kieran, eighteen; Logan, fifteen; and Mackenzie, almost 14. When I find a spare moment between teaching, grading, marching band, and figure skating, I enjoy paper crafting, reading, and shopping. Oh yes, and just look around my classroom and you will quickly discover that I am a bit of a Seuss fanatic!
I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Northern Arizona University in December of 1996. I completed my student teaching in fourth grade at Sechrist Elementary in Flagstaff. Gilbert Public Schools has been my home for over eighteen years. Before moving to fifth grade at Finley Farms in 2011, I taught three years of second grade, and ten and a half years of third grade at Superstition Springs Elementary.
My philosophy is that all children are gifted and all children can learn. My role is to help each one discover their talents, and develop them to their fullest potential, while understanding that everyone has the ability to grow their brain and their skills with the proper mindset. In our classroom, students will be expected to take responsibilities for their own learning, and always put forth their best effort.
