Empathy is seeing with the eyes of another,
listening with the ears of another,
and feeling with the heart of another.

Founding Faculty Member

I earned my Bachelor's of Arts in Education in 1987 and my Master's of Education from ASU in 1991. I am certified to teach Special Education, Elementary Education, and Gifted Education. Additionally, I became Nationally Board Certified in 2006 and then renewed my certificate in 2015.
I look forward to working with you and your child to reach his/her potential. Helping children develop a sense of belonging and resilience is very important to me. My goal is to foster a caring community that promotes empathy, autonomy, critical thinking, and leadership. I incorporate cooperative learning into my daily lessons, which encourages a deeper understanding of the skills I teach.

"No one can do everything, but everyone can do something."

I am very proud to be the founder and teacher sponsor of the Finley Farms Service Club since it was established in 2005. Each year we have approximately 30 fifth and sixth graders who are willing to attend monthly meetings to plan donation drives to assist others in need. We have served local schools, homeless shelters, battered women's shelters, veterans, our U.S. service men and women overseas, and we've helped victims of natural disasters in Haiti and Japan.
