At Finley Farms Elementary, we are known for our family atmosphere and positive relationships. One way we do this is by offering academic choices that meet the needs of every learner. We provide both conventional and Accelerated classrooms from Kindergarten through sixth grade so students can find the learning environment where they thrive. But what is Accelerated learning and what does that look like?

Find out by taking a look inside our Accelerated classrooms:

  • Moving at the Right Pace: In Accelerated classrooms, students follow the same high-quality curriculum, but at a faster pace. Teachers move through core subjects as fast as possible and as slow as necessary, giving fast-working students the freedom to dive right into reading and work on advanced coursework.
  • Learning the "Why" Behind Things: Accelerated learning goes beyond memorizing facts. In these classrooms, students focus heavily on group projects and explaining their reasoning to one another. By asking why things work instead of just how, students learn to think critically and have rich discussions with their peers.
  • Hands-On Projects: From the very beginning of their school journey, our students engage in active learning. Kindergarteners work on research projects about space, insects, and animals, while older students dive into hands-on STEM experiments, tech projects, and interactive science like growing real plants.
  • Is This the Right Fit?: These classrooms are designed for students who are naturally self-motivated, highly curious, and always asking, "What's next?" If your child loves a challenge, asks a lot of questions, or enjoys working on extra activities at home, they may thrive in this fast-paced setting.
