Recap: The First Month at Finley Farms Elementary

The school year has been underway for just over one month now! Students and staff at Finley Farms Elementary have been busy learning, growing, and building community. From the successful Curriculum Night to the first RISE Experience of the year, the beginning of the 2025-2026 school year is off to a great start! Here's a breakdown of everything that's happened so far.

The first month was filled with opportunities for families to connect with the school. The annual Curriculum Night gave parents a chance to meet teachers and learn about the year's expectations. The PTO hosted its first Restaurant Night of the year at McDonald's, raising money to go back to the school. The year also kicked off with Picture Day in late July, giving everyone a chance to capture their best smiles.

Learning is in full swing across campus. Our Kindergarteners are building foundational literacy and fine motor skills by practicing letter names and sounds. Meanwhile, 3rd graders are diving into their scientific detective novel, engaging in structured discussions and writing their own narratives. To celebrate students who go above and beyond, the school held its first RISE Experience, with students participating in fun and fast-paced Minute to Win It activities.

Students and staff are also showing off their school spirit, proudly wearing their maroon and gold for Falcon Gear Friday. A special thank you to the PTO for providing new gear for the teaching teams. The PTO also held its first meeting of the year, bringing the community together to plan future events and support the school's mission.
